It wasn’t until three years after dying in her North London flat that Joyce Vincent’s body was discovered, surrounded by Christmas presents, the TV still on. Fascinated, noted filmmaker Carol Morley interviewed those who knew her and staged imagined scenes from Joyce’s life to craft a haunting portrait of an unknown woman—a meditation on solitude, urban life and how little we may ever know each other.
