Enlighten Up!
Wednesday, April 1 - Thursday, May 7, 2009
Filmmaker Kate Churchill believes yoga can transform anyone; to prove it, she decides to immerse a novice in various practices until he finds enlightenment. Nick, a skeptical, 29 year-old New Yorker, signs on as her subject. Together, they circle the globe, visiting mystics and celebrity yogis, true believers and kooks, entrepreneurs and saints. But the more Nick investigates, the more contradictions he discovers, and as he searches for concrete facts and discards lofty spiritual theories, his path strays further and further from Kate’s original idea–much to her consternation.
