Deblache is fifty years old. He has always lived alone, his friends are men, his loves are whores. He feels sick but doesn’t acknowledge it, fearing deep down that he is only aging, and doesn’t want to face his life. This is the type of loneliness Deblache has shared with his Alter Ego, Théron, a handsome, young, braggart, womanizing-cop like himself. He feels betrayed when Théron marries Barbara, because two cops working together it is a kind of marriage. Deblache finally having to be operated on, it is in the hospital that Théron will introduce to him his wife. She is very young, cold, awkward, and provincial. She knows quite well that he doesn’t like her and tells him so, ant that is how il will all begin. Tension being something very particular between men and women.
