The Source Family
Wednesday, May 1 - Thursday, May 30, 2013
Utopian communes and upstart religions were all the rage in the early ’70s, but the Source Family were different: an eccentric group of Sunset Strip kids with colorful robes, a popular health food restaurant and a rock band. Living in a mansion under spiritual leader Father Yod, the Family’s radical lifestyle spawned a national trend, but also created suspicions among the local authorities. THE SOURCE FAMILY offers an intimate view of dramatic rise and fall of a key chapter of the counterculture movement.
