Murder & Miracles
Opened Wednesday, April 3, 2024
On February 6th, 2023, at 4:17am, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Southern Turkey and North Eastern Syria. In a matter of minutes large parts of the Southern Turkish cities of Antakya, Gaziantep and Hatay were in ruins, and tens of thousands lay dead under the rubble. Fadi and Fuad, were both away from their loved ones when the quake happened. What follows is their desperate search, travelling back to their hometowns, to discover whether their families had survived. We watch every painstaking moment of their respective journeys towards their former homes. Using a combination of interviews, news clips, and personal archive footage from the time of the quake, the tragedy is pieced together, alongside revelations of how many lives could have been saved had it not been for barefaced corruption and lies.
