US Premiere! hide 50th Anniversary Film: JUNK STORY is the first documentary about hide (aka Hideto Matsumoto, 1964-1998), the world-famous Japanese rock musician. An up-close-and-personal look at one of Japan’s greatest rockstars, this portrait was made to commemorate what would have been hide’s 50th birthday. It explores the aesthetics, dreams and philosophy of the guitarist-singer-songwriter whose work with heavy metal band X Japan and as a solo artist made him an icon for youth rebelling against the conformity of contemporary Japan.
