Old Fish
Tuesday, June 23 - Thursday, June 25, 2009
Written by and starring real-life Chinese cops and bomb squad officers, this movie belongs to actual ex-cop and non-actor Ma Guowei, who plays the titular Old Fish who has to save his hometown from a mad serial bomber using little more than string, a razor blade and fishhooks. Dripping with tension, it’s a real-life look at China’s bomb disposal procedures, which apparently include putting a ticking explosive device in your bicycle basket and pedaling like hell for the river.
