To Be Heard

“One of the best documentaries of the year!” – The New York Times

Three teens from the South Bronx struggle to change their lives when they start to write poetry.  As writing and reciting become vehicles for their expressions of love, friendship, frustration and hope, they emerge as accomplished, self-aware artists who use their creativity to alter their circumstances.  An intimate, vérité portrait, TO BE HEARD follows the three friends over four years as they build a bond based on language, respect and the need to survive.
